SCAMP has fostered the expansion of Clemson's renowned proactive PEER (Program for enrichment of engineering retention mentoring program). Each of the Alliance institutions has been influenced by the design, philosophy and training methods developed in the proactive PEER program at Clemson University. These mentoring programs involve faculty mentors ad students and will be used as a foundation to establish the LS-SCAMP PAIR Advising Program where in addition to a student mentor, SMET Faculty will serve as a member of the student advisement team. Alliance wide initiation of this advisement component will be piloted in spring 2004.
