Dr. Shingara Sandhu, Campus Principal Investigator for Claflin University was honored with the Dr. A.J. Hicks leadership award. 

Dr. Sandhu is the longest serving LS-SCAMP campus director in the alliance and will retire after 30 years of exemplary service to the university, state and nation educating, training, mentoring and nurturing STEM students. Dr. Hicks presented the leadership award to Dr. Sandhu at the Annual Governing Board Meeting held March 20, 2006.  Joining the presentation is Dr. Henry Tisdale, President Claflin University, Dr. Andrew Hugine, Jr., P.I. and President of South Carolina State University and Dr. Judith Salley-Guydon, Executive Director.
