Clemson founded in 1889 has been selected as the Louis Stokes South Carolina Alliance for Minority Participation's Featured Alliance Institution of the Month.

Clemosn University is consistently ranked 5th in the nation among majority schools in the number of African Americans Engineers graduated every year. This on going contribution to the nation's pool of talented STEM professionals can be attributed to the dedication of the College of Engineering and Science in supporting multiple recruitment and retention initiatives. One of these, the Math Excellence Workshop (MEW) is primarily supported through funding received from the LS-SCAMP.
